Natural Conditions
The rivers Yingjia,Yuejin and Laodong in the zone all lead to Chuanyang River, providing convenient irrigation for the area. The underground water level is 1-1.2m. The green area is the largest among all development zones. Under the influence of the subtropical and east Asian monsoons, the climate is temperate and moist, with four distinct seasons and an average annual sunshine of 2091 hours, an average annual light-heat of 447.5 kilojoule/sq.mm. and an average annual temperature of 15.5℃, the highest being 38℃ and the lowest, -9.6℃. The annual frost-free period is 230 days; the average annual precipitation is 1087.1 mm and around 131rainy days.
The zone is situated in the southeast corner within the Outer-ring Road, 12 km from Pudong international Airport. It is accessible from other parts of the city by the urban trunk roads of Shenjiang, Hebei, Jinke, S, and Huaxia and by expressways Huangnan No.1 and Huangdong No.2, all linking to the traffic network of Shanghai.
The zone is favorable in natural conditions, convenient in communications and strong in technical taskforce. Its mechanism of land-use is flexible. It enjoys all the preferential policies of Pudong New Area. Through 8 years of construction and development the infrastructure of the zone is almost complete in set and primarily complete in the scale of modern production facilities and the environment for investment is improving day after day.
